We have fun making our own artisan cotton candy, in a variety of unique flavours. All of our cotton candy is very flavourful, and the delightful tastes tend to linger on the tongue. There is nothing more satisfying than watching people taste it for the first time!
What's in it?
The first thing people often ask us is why we refer to our cotton candy as “organic”. People are very surprised to discover that our original flavour, maple, is made only with organic cane sugar and pure maple syrup!
For all our other flavours, we have been able to find a source of natural flavourings and natural colourings (made from vegetable extracts), all labelled as organic. We combine the organic cane sugar with the natural flavourings, and sometimes add a bit of the natural colourings. That's it!
So, our cotton candy ingredients are organic, natural, vegan and gluten free.
Cotton Candy Cowgirls brings a world of fun to your event!
- Family Events
Cotton Candy Cowgirls can attend an event and provide a Cotton Candy Bar for your guests to enjoy. The cotton candy can be served on the traditional paper cones, or stuffed into ice cream cones or plastic wine glasses. You get to choose the flavours to be served.
We can also provide you with gifts for your guests in containers that they can take home. We have an assortment of plastic or glass containers to choose from, or you can provide your own, so long as the container is air tight.
Our original flavour is Maple, and it's still one of our favourites.
Other flavours we have created include:

We aren't there yet, but we really are working on it. Sometimes it would be helpful if we could clone ourselves so we could get all these things done faster.
Our Short History
We are a small group of people associated with the Heal with Horses Therapeutic Centre and based in Prince Edward County, Ontario. Heal with Horses is a not-for-profit organization. In the spring of 2014, we decided to try to do some fundraising for Heal with Horses by offering our own maple cotton candy at one of the County's biggest events, Maple In The County. After playing around with the idea, we were able to make a delicious cotton candy using locally-produced maple syrup. It was a big hit! At a variety of fundraisers through the summer and fall, we had fun experimenting with lots of different flavours.
One of the challenges of working and volunteering with a not-for-profit organization is financial – you still have to buy your groceries. As we attended more events, we had so many lovely people come and tell us that we needed to expand our cotton candy business. What to do? How do you expand a volunteer business, spend the time you want to spend doing the important work at Heal with Horses, and pay your grocery bills? Well, we think we've come up with a great solution. Out of this predicament, Cotton Candy Cowgirls has evolved. We will run it as a little business, but a portion of every sale, large and small, will go to Heal with Horses. We've found a way to continue doing the work we love to do, and we get to have fun doing it.
